"Father of graphene" Konstantin Novoselov (Konstantin Novoselow), a professor at the University of Manchester and Nobel Prize winner in physics, said in Guilin, Guangxi, a few days ago that the new material graphene has a wide range of applications. it has a wide range of applications in wearable devices, new energy vehicles, rubber, big health industries and so on.

The 4-day 2018 International Conference on the latest progress of graphene research closed in Guilin, Guangxi on October 25. More than 300 famous scientists, experts and scholars in the field of graphene at home and abroad gathered in Guilin, Guangxi, to discuss the latest progress and development direction of graphene research.

Professor Konstantin Novoselov made a conference report on the theme of "Planar Structure of Graphene Materials" and introduced the more excellent performance of 2D crystals with detailed data. Professor Konstantin Novoselov is an expert in condensed matter physics, mesoscopic physics and nanotechnology. In 2010, he won the Nobel Prize in Physics for his achievements in graphene research. He proposed that there are still many 2D materials in the world, waiting for us to study and discover. Through these studies, we can further expand the range of available 2D materials.

Konstantin Novoselov said in an interview that graphene materials are widely distributed all over the world, and graphene has a very wide application prospect in the future. Now some graphene products related to people's lives have begun to be sold in the market, which is a very good momentum.

Graphene is known as the "king of new materials". China is a large country of graphene resources and one of the most active countries in graphene research and application development. Cheng Huiming, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a report on the theme of "Preparation of Graphene and Other Two-Dimensional Materials by Exfoliation" during the conference, which mainly introduced the intercalation expansion liquid phase exfoliation and electrochemical exfoliation processes. A large number of high-quality graphene materials are prepared from natural graphite, which have a wide range of applications in composite materials, energy storage, conductive inks and so on.

Cheng Huiming is mainly engaged in the research of carbon nanotubes, graphene, other two-dimensional materials, energy conversion and storage materials, etc., and has obtained more than 100 invention patents, many of which have been transferred and transformed. He said that the most important thing now is to prepare high-quality graphene and find a breakthrough in the application of graphene, so many breakthroughs have been made in this area in recent years. At present, graphene also has commercial applications, including anti-corrosion coatings, additives in ion batteries, etc. Recently, a Chinese company has just launched the latest mobile phone has been used in the graphene heat dissipation film, will make the heat evenly distributed at the same time, improve the performance of the phone.

Cheng Huiming believes that Guangxi should combine its own industrial characteristics, especially like Liuzhou, a big industrial city, with its pillar industries, to carry out the research and development and application of graphene, including the application of lubricants in automobiles and construction machinery. The graphene industry will be in Guangxi. Very good development.

During the conference, the participating experts conducted a number of academic discussions on cutting-edge research, testing and standard formulation, as well as applications in hot areas such as lighting, rubber tires, metal matrix composite cement-based concrete, lubricants, energy conservation and environmental protection, new energy, and coatings.

Graphene, known as "black gold", is a new type of nanomaterial with the thinnest, strongest strength, and strongest electrical and thermal conductivity found so far, and it is also one of the most promising materials in the future. In recent years, Chinese officials have issued a series of policies and related standards to support the development of the graphene industry. According to the industrial development roadmap, by 2020, the goal of China's graphene industry is to form an industrial scale of 10 billion yuan, and the overall industrial scale will exceed 100 billion yuan in 2025.
